中国的当代美术作品,应是具有崇高的精神内涵,有着深厚民族文化积淀的产物。中国的悠久文化的主脉,来源于中国的道教文化。这是崇仰黄老之道,以神仙家的术说及道家学说为中心,融合传统宗教习俗以告谕、教化世人,追求宇宙和谐、国家太平及相信人们修道积德定能安乐幸福、长生久视的宗教。
鲁迅先生1918年8月20日《致许寿裳》的信中说:“中国的根柢全在道教,此说近颇广行。以此读史,有多种问题可以迎刃而解。”这句话卓识而深刻,是对道教文化在中国历史中的作用予以了高度肯定。西方的科学家、哲学家、艺术家都对中国的道教文化给予了高度评价。英国科学家李约翰说:“道家又能将自己的理论付之实行。所以东方的化学、植物学、动物学和药物学都渊于道家。中国如果没有道家,就像大树没有根一样。”美国著名导演卡普拉说:“在伟大的诸传统中,据我看,道家提供了最深刻并且是最完美的生态智慧。”道教文化被中国的历代帝王和墨客所推崇,为民间所崇敬。宋太宗曾在《圣学》中说:“伯阳五千言,读之甚有益,治身治国,并在其中。”在当下构建和谐社会主义精神文明建设具有重要意义,原中国共产党总书记江泽民在视察泉州的讲话中说:“要多宣传老子的辨证唯物主义思想,要把民族的传统文化精粹整理好、宣传好,使‘三胞’和外国朋友了解中国的历史和传统文化的魅力。”
道教文化几千年来流传了许多唯美、可颂的典故和美如仙境的名胜古迹。为传播中国的文化精粹,让全世界人民了解中国,了解中国的文化。现为中国艺术家协会理事、中国美术家协会湖北分会会员的陈军琪先生,潜心收集了200百多个中国道教文化典故,他用现代人的人文观念,采用西方近百年流传于中国的油画工具,用视觉艺术解读中国的道教文化,为之开启了艰难而漫长的《悟道之旅》。
陈军琪先生八岁随父曾定居在美如仙境的道教文化圣地——武当山脚下,曾多次到此写生,也曾到中国的祖先炎帝神农氏尝百草、八百里奇山怪岭的神农架体验生活,从中感受中国的道教文化精神。中国的道教文化深深地影响着他的美术创作,在他以往的人物画和诗情画意的风景画里,无不透露出中华民族文化道教思想的感应。陈军琪先生的书画作品曾多次在全国展览中获奖,其作品也曾多次在国内外一级刊物发表。 2008年中国文化部文化艺术人才中心,鉴于陈军琪先生在艺术创作所取得的卓越成就,将他的作品5幅选入“影响中国的100位艺术大家”经典作品卷中。
《悟道之旅》油画长卷,采用超现实主义与浪漫的写实表现手法相融合,讲诉中国道教文化的典故。作者运用了中国式的散点透视法和西方式的焦点透视法相结合,画面划破时空,较为突出地表现了每单元的主体,使得风景与人物有机地穿插,构成天、地、人合一的表现形式。作者充满激情,用他饱含丰富色彩的画笔,将油画的表现力——光与色的变化与中国传统写意用笔的有机结合,造型简洁而生动地将传说中的神话赋予当代文人新特性,从新层次地解读了中国道教文化的起源和发展。《悟道之旅》首创用油画长卷分单元的形式,表现中国道教文化人物的系列作品。作品分为三个递进层次,第一层;《悟道之旅》为整个系列的主脉,由N个独立单元构成,贯穿于作品的灵魂。第二层;以每单元为中心,每个单元由三幅画组成,构成这个单元为主题的独立文化典故。第三层;在每个单元的三幅画中,每幅画又可分离为完整内容的独幅画,在这完整的独幅画中表述这个单元的其中内容之一。 《悟道之旅》通过从整体到局部再由局部到整体,构成气贯长虹、要素统一、互相关联、时代完整的长卷。在作品中,让人们感悟到中国道教文化的气韵之美。
第一章 盘古真人
第一节:开天地
远古,天地浑圆、混沌未开。盘古真人用大斧把这一团混沌劈开。阴阳分离,二气升降,阳为天,阴为地。盘古自号元始天尊。
第二节:欢爱
盘古真人巡游与太元圣母一见钟情,相爱。每经一劫与太元圣母欢爱一次,先后生下扶桑大帝东王公号元阳父和九光玄女号太真西王母。
第三节:魂系日月山川
盘古真人化仙,其身,器官化为日月星辰、四极五岳、江河湖泊及万物生灵,成为天地万物之祖。
第二章 后羿与嫦娥
第一节:祈祷
上古,天有十个太阳。炙热的阳光使大地几乎融化,尧率众向天帝、帝后祈求拯救百姓。十个太阳为天帝帝后之子,天帝为保天下太平,派神箭手后羿协其后羿之妻嫦娥下凡。
第二节:后羿射日
后羿拉弓射下九个太阳,存一个在空中高悬。此刻,大地万物复苏,人们得救。而帝后得知射死她九个儿子,伤痛,不许后羿和嫦娥回到天宫。
第三节:月宫嫦娥
嫦娥怀恋天宫,独自偷吃仙药,如生两翼飞入月宫。嫦娥在月宫,孤独中思恋后羿。
第三章 圣王伏羲
第一节:创八卦

第三节:授网之道
伏羲将结网方法传授于百姓,从此人们懂得了结网打渔、围猎的生计。
第四章 炎帝神农
第一节:龙气生神农
炎帝神农氏的母亲在华阳感应神龙之气,在姜水河畔生下牛首人身的神农。神农氏发明了耒耜、斧头、锄头等工具,教授百姓开垦草莽,从事农业,寻其油性草木制成烛火并设立司火官。
第二节:神农尝百草
炎帝时,百姓无医无药,有病认命生死。神农尝遍百草,分辨365种草药,治疗100多种杂病,尊为药王。
第三节:遇险驾鹤
神农请教皇人弟子,皇人弟子传《天元玉册》于神农。神农帅众从家乡随州始发,跋山涉水、不畏险阻为百姓寻药治病,集《神农本草》传世流芳,白鹤将神农接上天庭,传为神话。
第五章 黄帝姻缘
第一节:黄帝入世法
黄帝其母梦见一巨大电光,围绕象征天子的北斗七星之枢星照耀大地,感应有孕,在轩辕之丘生下他。十五岁黄帝继承王位,号黄帝轩辕氏,为百姓操劳。人们为他婚事操心,长者常带美女相亲。黄帝笑曰:婚嫁不能重外表,轻内在,我要娶才干之人。
